Mobile Push Notifications for Arrowchat

Has anybody implemented push notifications for arrowchat when mobile? I was planning on using the wordpress API to send the message content to the push notification plugin I already have installed. I'm not sure where to put the JS listeners in Arrowchat to get it to send the information to the API endpoint I've created though.
