Buddypress Specific Code

Hey guys,

I searched around on the forums to see if anyone was able to get the specific code working for the buddypress notification systems... and I noticed that someone said that you have to put code into the /buddypress/bp-themes/_inc/ajax.php file.

I have access to this file and am able to input the necessary code, the problem is that I'm horrible at writing code of any kind. Has anyone successfully gotten these to work that would be willing to share with me their code?

The only important ones are the new messages and activity comments.
