What notifications would you like?

We're just about ready to release our new site design. Immediately after this, we'll be adding more notifications to our guide. We would like to get as many suggestions as possible in this thread.

Please include which integration and when you'd like to be notified of something new.

You currently have 1 example for vBulletin, PM notificaton, which I have integrated relatively easily (btw I posted a more advanced example in this forum that includes the actual Subject and a link directly to the PM)

I would like to see all the Notifications from vBulletin integrated, or at least example codes for them:

- Friend Requests
- Wall Posts (aka Visitor Messages)
- Social Group Messages
- Social Group Join Requests
- Social Group Invitations
- Picture Comments

We're working on notifications for all of the integrations. We'd like to know specifically which ones you want to see on Elgg.

Hey - I'm glad there's some other folk out there wanting Elgg notifications!

In no particular order :

1. Friend Requests
2. Activity in Groups to which you are a member (this could be simply "7 new discussions have been created in 'Staff Room'")
3. Activity on your content, eg "3 people like your comment, 4 people have commented on your blog" etc
4. Calendar Events, eg (Events this week...)

Obviously some of the above would rely some 3rd party Elgg mods (http://community.elgg.org/pg/plugins/all/) - but the activity ones (2 and 3) could probably be undertaken as a generic approach?

I feel the stronger the integration you can make Arrowchat, the more interest I can direct your way from UK educational establishments! :D

I agree with mkharel. I'd like to see SE notifications too.

It shouldn't be too hard since SE already has a notification system, but I could be wrong, since nothing having to do with SE is easy.

Integration for MyBB notifications would also be nice.

I'm guessing forum-based sites could use the followwing features:
-New Thread notification
-New Reply notification
-Quote notification
-PM notification
