Arrowchat Notifications table question

I've search ALL through the code but could someone point me to where Arrow Chat runs the update command to change the value in the 'alert_read' column (In the table arrowchat_notifications). By default it's inserted as 0 but some how when a notification is shown to a user that column get's updated to 1 and I need to find where that query is. So if someone could find that for me it would be greatly appreciated.

The alert_read is altered in the receive_core.php file and the user_read is altered in the send_notifications.php file.
