I'm less interested in chat capability and more interested in messaging (similar to emails) other members.

Does Arrowchat have the concept of an inbox?
If a userA sends a message to userB who is offline- does userB receive the message when they log back into the site?

Can userB view past messages from their contacts?

If Arrowchat does not support this functionality - are there any PHP (or Cakephp) plugins that support this?

Yes, ArrowChat will deliver offline users their messages the next time they login. It also will show their history until they clear it.

Users offline, after a while if they do not logon, they disappear from the list.

I wish they stayed there.
