Our chat server is quite active and we routinely get really high load on our brand new database server. The hardware is quite good so there is something in the software that we would like to look into to tweak to reduce the load avgs.

Does any have any advice to make the database load more manageable?

Our current settings are the following:

Message Heart Beat: 7

Buddy List Heart Beat: 60

Online Timeout: 120

Idle Timeout: 3

I would like to know this issue too.

I think normally server load at other chat apps like the chat on facebook only happens when server pings to a user new content. but arrowchat is bad, it pings the browserclient every i.e. 3 seconds even if nothing is happened. thats the reason for the high load.

so I hear from a lot of my devs that this is poor architecture. i would like that this gets fixed. its one of the main negative sides of arrowchat.
