could I install Arrowchat as stand alone service?

I have Socialengine site. I would like to install Arrowchat like a messenger function on my site. But I would like to make sure our site not overload because of Messenger function. That's why I would like to install Arrow chat as stand alone service. After that I will integrate with my socialengine site like another chat cloud service does?
