Too many private chat button open at once

PC DESKTOP:
Some members chat with lots of members leaving tons of chatboxes buttons on the bottom bar. When they try to navigate to a different page it takes a while for the page to load because of all the chat boxes button that has to be loaded.

Is there a way to prevent this?

We could take a look at improving efficiency in the chat tabs as I don't believe we've looked at that in a while.

Some of my members are having a hard time browsing my site due to too many chatboxes opens. I try the maintenance but that doesn't seem to do anything. Is there a way I can do maintenance and close all the old chat boxs that are not being used and are old?

I added my server ip address to the htaccess in the cron folder and ran a cron job https://www.mydomain.com/chat/public/cron/index.php but none of the chat boxes close. I try the regular cron job from the cp but that don't work well. Is it because of push services? Help

The cron is cleaning the messages but the chatboxes are not being closed. So everytime you change pages it has to load all the open chatboxes. So members have 100s of chat boxes open. How can I close all empty chatboxes?
