Arrowchat / phpFox no users showing online in Arrowchat

I have just installed arrowchat on phpfox 3.4.1
There are no users showing online in the chat.
To answer the most logical first question....yes I am friends with users that are online.
This is a fresh install. I have read the install instructions and followed them completely, the chat bar is showing up, I am able to load applications to it and the applications are functioning. There is nothing I see "wrong" with the arrowchat itself or it loading on my site. Except for the fact that it is showing no users online.
Any ideas?
