Offline users show up in buddy list as online

I have about 7 users who always show up in the buddy list. They are displayed as being online in the buddy list. The phpbb forum shows them as offline. Seeing as how ArrowChat has shown them online for 3 days straight, I am starting to think that there is a problem with ArrowChat.

Forum: phpBB 3.0.8

ArrowChat Settings
Buddy List: Disabled
Online Timeout: 30s
Heart Beat: 3s
Buddy List Heart Beat: 30s
Idle Time: 5min

Please help!

There is no way they could be displayed as online unless their browser was left open (are they idle?). The database must be constantly updated for their status to stay as online and thus the browser must be open.

I believe that phpBB will display a user as offline if they do not click another page for a period of time. However, ArrowChat will display a user online as long as their browser is open and on the page. It's unlikely, but possible that those three users have your site open for some reason.

Okay. Well this will throw you off then...

My server was disconnected for 5 hours today. So it was turned off. Now, I return to the website to still see those users online.

Now, ArrowChat should not load for these users. Why? Because I block the ArrowChat <script> tags from displaying for these users.

It is possible that the users have had their browser open on the same page the whole time and not moved. As soon as they refresh or change pages, ArrowChat would stop working.

That being said, it is very unlikely and it sounds like something else is going on. It may be a problem with the way that ArrowChat is getting the buddy list.

That's exactly what I think. Now, what can I do about it?
