Should be define('NO_FRIEND_SYSTEM', '0'); ?

I setup everything according to the guide for standalone custom site and debug says everything is good. But even on guest and friends view nothings shows up in the buddylist.

Although this is a typo, it was a typo throughout the entire script so it is correct. I'd need your site and a test login account to investigate further.
