On my site only about 20 - 30 people ever really use the chat.
There should be an option for users to "opt in" to the chat so that arrowchat does not use all your system resources on users that have no intention of EVER using it.
That way only the people who are ACTIVELY using the chat would be shown in the list rather than all the people who have NO INTEREST in ever using it and will be annoyed if people start contacting them using the chat.
I think this is a VERY important feature to have and should be considered for a future update.
