Sadly stuck on step two...

"For example, if you have root/forum, you must upload it to root/forum/arrowchat. Next, upload the contents (not the entire folder) of the subdomain folder to the root path of a subdomain on your server."

I uploaded the arrowchat folder directly under public_html but NOT under the folder of my website's folder (i have another domain name in addition to the primary domain I purchased). Assuming that I did this correctly, I'm currently stuck on where to find the subdomain folder. I upload the contents of that into the "channel" that was created when I created subdomain.mywebsite.com, right?

Thanks in advance for input!

You need to upload ArrowChat so it'll be yourdomain.com/arrowchat. The installer won't let you continue if you did it wrong.

Yes, the subdomain folder should be uploaded to the channel root.

Can you clarify what you mean when you say the subdomain folder should be uploaded to the channel root?

Is the subdomain folder the channel.mywebsite.com folder? What is the root in this case?

Yes, it is. A "root" folder is the top level directory. In other words, you should be able to access channel.mywebsite.com/receive_core.php after uploading.

I get the following error when I try to access the recieve_core.php page:

Warning: include_once(includes/functions_notifications.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /public_html/[webname]/channel/receive_core.php on line 14

Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening 'includes/functions_notifications.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib64/php:/usr/lib/php') in /public_html/[webname]/channel/receive_core.php on line 14

Warning: include_once(includes/functions_php.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /public_html/[webname]/channel/receive_core.php on line 15

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /public_html/[webname]/channel/receive_core.php:14) in /public_html/[webname]/channel/receive_core.php on line 407

Any idea on where the error is? I'm thinking of uninstalling/reinstalling again. Thanks!

What are the contents of the subdomain folder in the download? It should have an includes folder and that needs to be uploaded as well.

Tried re-installing it again. Now I got this error:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user '[ADMIN USERNAME]'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /public_html/campusimpact/arrowchat/config.php on line 19
Unable to connect to database. Please check details in configuration file.

Is the problem related to the admin username/password?

Sounds like you overwrote your config.php file. Do you have a backup of channel that you can grab config.php from?

If not, did you just upload new files to your channel folder or did you upload to your arrowchat folder as well? If you just uploaded to your channel folder, you can copy the contents of arrowchat/config.php over to channel/config.php (they are the same).

If you killed both config.php files you'll need to recreate them.

Thanks, Asinsh. I did as you said (re-downloaded a new config.php and re-uploaded it to channel/config.php) but after I refreshed I got another error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_currentuserinfo() in /public_html/[sitefolder]/arrowchat/includes/functions_receive.php on line 23

All my functions_receive_buddypress.php files were renamed to functions_receive.php.

Any thoughts?

You might want to think about opening a technical support ticket up. There is obviously something bigger going on, because you shouldn't be getting error after error.

Done. Just want to clarify, though, that the previous errors have disappeared and the the last one I wrote about is the only one remaining now.
