Links posted to an embedded chatroom open in iframe

When someone posts a link to the embedded chatroom, clicking on it takes you to the link WITHIN the chatroom's iframe. It should take you to a new tab. Oddly, if you refresh and click on the same link again it seems to work properly. Suggestions? I'm in Wordpress.
