VBulletin - Chatbar covers quick reply buttons

On VB 4.2.1 using the quick reply system, clicking on reply scrolls the screen and opens a quick reply form below the post concerned. Unfortunately the submit buttons for reply are then covered by the chatbar.

Can anyone help with how to solve this?

I've come up with a plan - add a jQuery hide line for the chatbar when the quick reply form is shown. That will avoid adding white space which is the obvious hack.

Just need to work out how to do it and don't have time now. I'll post when I do as I assume this affects all VB installs using the inline quick reply.

Hi Jason, thank you, but that would leave white space at the bottom of the screen for people with no bar, eg. IE6 and those who turned it off. I'd like a neater solution if possible and think that hiding the bar is probably it. While someone is using quick reply they can do without the chatbar. Another option is just to get VB to scroll the page to a slightly different place.

Cracked it - not perfect, but I can't work out how to do either of my suggestions above:
