Slow performance on phpfox

Good morning,
I installed the arrowchat on phpfox but I see that it is slow.
I explain better :
When I chat with someone and I enter a text I see that the text appear in my chat box after few seconds. And the other user see it later. I would like that the chat is fast as facebook.

In the configuration setting I have :

Message Heart Beat : 1
Buddy List Heart Beat : 5
Online Timeout : 240
Idle Timeout : 15

I think that faster than 1 on Heart Beat I cannot put, so, is there a way to speed up the script ?

Having those settings is going to be really rough on your server.

I would recommend our push service where messages are delivered near instantly.

I know that my server will be very load, but I dont't understand why it is so slow
The load of server is very light for now, we have few users on chat but I imagine that if we will have 100 users that are using chat they will wait a lot of time and my server go overload.
Isn't there a way to chat faster not using your push service ?

1 second is the minimum and not recommended either. You would need a push server for anything faster.

Using your service, will I have the possibility to add smile like I'm doing on my server ?
Even change css and so on ?
