Problems after upgrade

I've upgraded from version 1.6 to 1.8.21 and now arrowchat is not working anymore.

The chatbar is showing (in the left corner instead of the right corner) and it says Chat (0). After you click on it it changes to Chat (14) *the number people online*. If you click on a username nothing happens, so no new chat starts.

If you click 'Chat Rooms', the general chatroom opens but it's also too much to the left so you only see half of it.

It's a custom integration and uses the Arrowchat's push service.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

What are the exact steps you took to upgrade?

I mad a back up of everything, renamed the old installation to arrowchat_old, uploaded the new files and copied some of the missing files like config.php, integration.php and data_admin_options.php. Then I ran the upgrade script.

Don't copy over data_admin_options.php and you also need to run the /install/ folder, NOT the /upgrade/ folder.

The config.php and integration.php files shouldn't be copied over either unless you have problems after installation.

Is I run the install folder it wants to clear all the data in the database (old messages and settings). Is there a way to re-install without deleting all old data?

You'd hvae to upgrade to 1.7 and then upgrade to 1.8 following the instructions in the release notes.

When I try to upgrade to 1.7 and run /upgrade/ I get an error that the file data_admin_options.php doesn't exist. How to handle this when I'm not suppose to copy the old version?

I now switched back to 1.6 and everything is working again.

Or maybe you can tell me which files to replace if I want to get rid of the bug which causes you can't remove people from your block list.

I am having sort of a similar problem. I uploaded all the files and replaced them. I am on version 1.8.2, however, when going to the /upgrade it says I'm missing the config file. If I put the old config file in, it gives me a white page.

You should only be running the upgrade steps on an existing installation. The fact that you had no config file means that you didn't have ArrowChat installed. You should be running /install/ instead.
