Upgrade 1.8.3 -> 1.8.4 - white page

I'm trying to upgrade an ipBoard 3.4.7 installation, renamed the 1.8.3 folder, uploaded the new version, following upgrade instructions.
Copied config.php and integration.php over from previous install, after they where claimed to be missing.

Now I only get a white page on the /upgrade folder. If I load /install everything is fine, but I'd like an upgrade, not a fresh install dropping everything.

What am I missing to proceed with the upgrade?

You shouldn't be creating a new folder. You need to drop the 1.8.4 files onto your server and overwrite what is there.
