Chatroom onclick event doesn't work well if chat bar is clos

I was reading this thread that indicated how to enter a particular chatroom using an onclick event:

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=624&start=0&hilit=jqac.arrowchat.chatroom

I've got that working fine, but it doesn't work so great if the chat bar is closed. If the chat bar is closed, the offset of the chatroom gets messed up and the room get truncated on the left.

Is there a way to use the onclick event, but force the chat bar to be enabled before openning the chat room?

something to enable the arrowchat_show_bar_button, or something? I'm not sure what to look at.

maybe make a chatrooms favorites system !!!
user can add a chat room to his browser favorites .
or favorites system in the chatrooms list .

Would a favorites system benefit? Maybe in a large community...but I would suspect that most sites would have no benefit to little benefit of permanent chat rooms.
