Hello, here are 2 features that I consider very important.

1) Update all browser tabs opened when you send/receive/read a message and when you open/close a chat tab or the buddylist.

2) Add ability to close chat tabs by pressing the "esc" button on keyboard and switch by pressing the "tab" button.

Hope you take this in your consideration :)

Cheers,
Michelangelo

I would love better tab synchronization. Of all the chat systems I've seen, none can do this. I'm starting to think it's impossible. :(

It's possible but it's also very resource intensive in ajax-based sites :\

I know this was implemented before but it still doesn't always work. Some people have multiple tabs open, and this creates multiple instances of the chat - which means multiple requests and additional server load. Is there anyway of making all instances run as one? Sometimes messages aren't synced either and so messages that appear to have been sent and received won't appear in other tabs.

Could it utilize http_keepalive?

I've been messing around with this. Getting very close on being able to sync everything between tabs including the polling requests.

Good news! I was able to successfully figure all this out and it will be in v1.8 update. You'll see that everything is already being synced here on our site. There are still a few issues, but they'll be ironed out shortly.
